We often think production bugs happen because of big oversights or complex logic failures. But sometimes, it’s the smallest things—a single typo—that sneak past every safeguard and cause trouble in live environments. Recently, I had one such experience in a Rails project. It wasn’t a major crash, but it did break a piece of business logic under specific conditions. More importantly, it taught me valuable lessons about code reviews, rubocop, and testing discipline—lessons I’d like to share here. The Safeguards We Already Had Like most teams, we don’t push code directly to production. Instead, we follow a layered safety net: ✅ Pre-commit checks to catch obvious mistakes ✅ RSpec test cases to validate logic ✅ CI pipelines to enforce standards and run checks ✅ Code reviews to ensure human oversight ✅ QA testing before deployment You’d think with all this in place, no typo could possibly slip through. So how did it happen? Where Things Went Wrong: Rubocop and a “Helpfu...
What are in the Gmail settings?
Many of know-how to send mail but many of us don't know how to configure our inbox and other mail-related option's provided in the Gmail settings. In this post, we are going to know about the basic settings we must know in Gmail.
How to reach Gmail settings?
First, open the inbox of your Gmail, then the right side top corner near your profile pic you can see the settings icon and click on it. In the Quick Settings menu click on the Sell all settings.
When we click on the Sell all settings the below-setting page will
open
Language:
In the General section first option Language
provides up to 70 languages to display your Gmail.
Maximum Page Size:
This is helpful to the people who work with
email frequently. By default,, Gmail provides 50 mails per
page but if we want more we can set 100 mails per page. If you
want a clean look at your mail then go to the option with less
than 50.
Undo Send:
This option is a very useful full option to the user especially office working persons because when you sent the wrong email it bad for your email skill. This option provides you the time to undo the mail maximum within 30 seconds which you sent and then
re-send it without errors. (This will help you sometimes 😉..
)
Other Options :
Keep Spelling, Grammar & auto-correct feature is always on that will
helps you to provide good writing for your mail and also helps you to
improve your writing skill, so don't let them off.
The Smart Reply option provides a short replay for
the mails like
I will attend, Thanks a lot, I will send it.
This option provides mark the important mail with a
star with different colors and symbols and this will help you to find
the right mail when you want it back. In the Prestes select all stars
to enable the option.
Signature:
When you click on the Create new option you can add
your signature and that will helps you save a lot of time instead
of writing your name and details.
In this post, I just only posted a
few options in the Gamil settings if you want to know more settings and
also want to know about particular settings elaborately I will post. In
the comment section comment on what you want to know about this and also
